July 14 – Sponsored walk across Morecambe Bay
Walk with us across the sands of Morecambe Bay, led by Cedric Robinson, Queens Guide to the Sands. Setting off from Arnside at 2.15pm, it will take no less than 3.5 hours to walk to Kent’s Bank. The walk involves crossing the Kent estuary, where water could be up to thigh level for a short distance.

November 18 – Benefit concert for Windows for Peace UK by the Hepton Singers
Sunday November 18 2012 at 1.30 pm, in the Friends’ Meeting House, Mount Street, Manchester, A benefit concert for Windows for Peace UK by the Hepton Singers, singing a programme of mainly Russian music.
The Hepton Singers - http://www.heptonsingers.co.uk/ is a chamber choir with a reputation for performing dramatic programmes of exciting, unaccompanied and often unusual music from the 16th century to the contemporary. The choir is directed by Alison West and based in Hebden Bridge, in the heart of the Pennines between Manchester and Leeds.
The 30-strong choir also tours nationally and internationally, often hosting exchanges with similar ensembles. In 2011 the choir welcomed visiting choir Ars Sacra Nova from Budapest, and their successful tour included a well-received concert at the Friends’ Meeting House in central Manchester.
